GE's own support material describes this as a message that appears when power reaches the control before the circuit is wired correctly, not as a failing part. It clears once the installer or an electrician corrects the connection at the back of the unit, and the appliance runs normally the same time it is powered back up. ### What does a low-water message mean the first time a new GE dish care machine runs? GE ties this message to water not reaching the tub fast enough on that first cycle, most often because the inlet hose is still kinked from packing or the supply valve under the sink was never opened. Straightening the hose and confirming the valve is open resolves it without a technician. ### The display on my new GE unit is frozen and nothing responds — is it broken? Check for a backward C symbol or the letters SAb first, because that is GE's Sabbath setting rather than a failure.
