Hestan sells outdoor and professional-style cooking equipment alongside a refrigeration and beer-dispenser line built for both indoor and UL-approved outdoor placement, and its refrigeration manual is explicit about the alarm codes an installer should expect in the appliance's first hours: a flashing letter code for a compartment that has not yet come down to temperature, separate from the codes that mean a sensor has failed. Hestan's US line for this site covers professional-style ranges, cooktops, grills and outdoor cooking equipment, plus a refrigeration and beer-dispenser line built for both indoor and UL-approved outdoor placement. ### A high-temperature alarm is expected before a unit finishes cooling down Hestan's own refrigeration manual ties its 'HA' alarm to the compartment sitting above its high-temperature alarm preset for over 30 minutes, and specifically tells the installer to wait 24 hours for warm product to chill before rechecking, rather than treating the flashing code as a failure on day one. ### A door left ajar during delivery can trigger the same kind of alarm The manual's troubleshooting table for both its high- and low-temperature alarms starts with making sure the door is completely closed and the gasket seal is good, which matters most in the first hours after delivery crews have been in and out of the cabinet. ### The louvered plate has to stay clear for the compartment to hold temperature Hestan's manual lists a blocked or obstructed louvered plate as a cause of the high-temperature alarm, tying a slow first cool-down to airflow around the unit rather than only to the compressor inside it. ### Outdoor placement has its own seasonal maintenance section The refrigeration manual sets aside a separate winterizing section for UL-approved outdoor models, treating an outdoor installation as needing its own seasonal steps rather than the same care as an indoor unit. Parts Hestan's refrigeration line uses a probe-based thermostat and evaporator sensor that the manual treats as technician-replaced parts, distinct from the door gasket and louvered plate an installer is expected to check without opening the cabinet. Repair or replace A Hestan refrigeration unit flashing a high- or low-temperature alarm in its first day is worth checking against the door seal and the louvered plate before assuming the sensor itself needs replacing. Hestan's own manual ties this to the compartment sitting above its high-temperature alarm preset for more than 30 minutes, which is expected right after delivery if warm product was loaded in immediately; it recommends waiting 24 hours before rechecking. ### Is a flashing 'LA' code on a new Hestan unit the same problem as 'HA'? No, it is the opposite: the manual ties 'LA' to the compartment running below its low-temperature alarm preset, and the same door-seal and ambient-temperature checks apply before assuming a sensor problem. ### Does a Hestan outdoor cold-storage unit need anything extra done at installation? Hestan documents a separate seasonal maintenance routine for its UL-approved outdoor models, which an installer sets up at the same time as the initial fitting rather than treating an outdoor unit exactly like an indoor one. --- **[Read on the site: Hestan Appliance Installation | ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/brands/hestan/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
