LG documents more setup messages by name than most makes we cover, and several of them spell out installation directly: a spelled-out GAS message on a new gas dryer hookup, a graded duct-restriction reading, a drain-hose message on a first cycle, a not-level message on a washer. An LG installation is largely a matter of reading these messages correctly on day one, since LG's own help library ties nearly all of them back to a step of the hookup rather than a part. We take on LG cold storage, cooking, dish care and laundry installs, matching the four groups LG documents across its own help library. ### A gas message spells itself out LG's dryer help library documents a display message that is not a numeric code at all but the letters GAS, meant to be read literally, and its first two steps are checking that the gas valve is open and that the supply line is not kinked. ### Duct restriction is graded, not binary LG's Flow Sense readings report an estimated percentage of duct blockage rather than a flat pass or fail, so a duct run can trip the same code at different levels of severity depending on how it was fitted. ### A drain-hose message names its own three causes LG documents its condensing-dryer drain code as kinking, crushing, clogging, or the drain sump freezing, and specifically warns that extending the standard drain hose adds resistance the dryer was not designed for. ### A refrigerator's demo mode looks exactly like a failure LG's own refrigerator documentation describes a retail display setting that turns off all cooling and shows a plain OFF on the panel, worded almost identically to how an owner would describe a dead unit. Parts LG specifies its own drain hose, vent kit and leveling hardware by model in the same help-library articles that document the setup messages, so the standard parts named there are the first thing a visit checks against what is actually installed. Repair or replace Nearly every LG message a new installation shows in its first days is tied to a documented setup step — a valve, a duct run, a hose, a leveling leg — so the visit is usually finished by correcting that step rather than by any part. LG's own help library treats this as a plain-language message rather than a numeric code, telling the owner the machine is not getting the gas supply it needs. The documented first steps are checking that the gas valve is fully open and that the supply line is not kinked, and to contact the installer if a fresh hookup does not resolve it. ### My new LG cooking appliance display shows Sb and will not respond to any button — is it stuck? LG documents Sb as its Sabbath mode rather than a failure, and while it is active the temperature cannot be changed and the timer, light and alarm functions are disabled on purpose. It clears with the same button sequence used to set it. ### Why does a brand-new LG cold storage unit show OFF on the display and no cooling at all? LG's own documentation describes this as its demo or display mode, meant for a retail showroom, and it disables all cooling until it is turned off deliberately. A unit delivered straight from a store shelf can arrive in this mode by mistake, so checking for it is the first step before assuming a defect. --- **[Read on the site: LG Appliance Installation | ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/brands/lg/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
