Smeg sells across all four rooms this site covers, from retro-style refrigerators to ranges, dishwashers and front-load laundry, and its washer's own installation checklist reads like a punch list built from real service calls: transit bolts removed, both inlet hoses connected and leak-checked, and the drain hose secured within a set height range before the machine is called finished. Smeg's US range for this site covers retro-style and built-in refrigeration, ranges, cooktops and ovens, dishwashers, range hoods, and front-load washers and dryers, each with its own installation instructions published on the maker's own site. ### Transportation bolts are the first thing checked, not the last Smeg's washer manual puts removing the shipping bolts ahead of leveling in its installation checklist and warns the appliance should not be operated with them still in, since running the drum against bolts meant only for transit is what the manual's vibration troubleshooting traces back to. ### The drain hose has a height window, not just a direction The installation instructions set the drain hose between 16 and 39 inches from the floor, and separately warn that a hose seated too low lets the machine siphon water straight back out while it is still trying to fill. ### A full installation checklist closes out the job Smeg's manual ends its installation section with a specific checklist — bolts removed, hoses connected and leak-tested, drain secured, machine grounded and leveled — rather than leaving the installer to judge when the job is finished. ### A retro-style cold-storage unit's door alarm is a feature, not a problem Smeg's refrigerator manual describes a door-open alarm that sounds only after the door has been open a while, built to remind a household rather than to signal that anything inside the cabinet has failed. Parts Smeg's washer ships with its shipping bolts, a hose guide and accessory bags packed inside the drum, all of which the installer removes and, in the case of the bolts, keeps on hand for any future move. Repair or replace Most first-week Smeg laundry calls are resolved by finishing a step on the maker's own installation checklist, such as removing a shipping bolt or re-securing the drain hose height, rather than by replacing a part. Smeg's manual ties this directly to the transportation safety bolts not being removed, ahead of a load being unbalanced or the machine being unlevel, since the drum is fighting hardware that was only meant to hold it still for shipping. ### Why does a new Smeg laundry machine drain out the water it just took in? The troubleshooting table calls this 'the product directly discharges the water it takes in' and ties it to the drain hose not being at an adequate height, which the installation instructions set between 16 and 39 inches from the floor. ### The laundry machine won't fill even though both faucets are on, what does Smeg say to check? Its own chart lists a folded inlet hose and clogged inlet strainers ahead of anything else, both installation details rather than a part failure, and has the installer straighten or clean them before calling for service. --- **[Read on the site: Smeg Appliance Installation | ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/brands/smeg/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
