Bertazzoni's own manual is explicit that a unit in Demo Mode may seem like it is working while it makes no cool air at all, because the compressor stops operating and the defrost heater does not run, even though lighting and other functions keep following normal logic control. Bertazzoni appliance display What to do when DEMO MODE shows on the appliance ### Kind of code Setup modes, not failures Nothing is wrong with the new appliance; it has come out of the carton in a state the store or the factory left it in. A showroom or demo mode lights the display and the fans while the unit never cools or heats, a Sabbath setting holds the oven light and hides the controls, a control or shipping lock refuses every key, and some laundry and dish care machines ask for a first calibration cycle before normal use. The manual gives the key sequence that turns each one off; once it is off, the appliance runs as it should. ### Usually leads to No installation Press and hold the water filter and freezer buttons together for 7 seconds to enter the test menu, then press the freezer button until the display shows 7 to toggle Demo Mode. ### Shows up as Cold Storage Slow to Cool on the First Day Cold storage slow to cool is a new refrigerator, freezer, wine or beverage unit that still feels warm inside many hours after its installation. ### Make Bertazzoni A Bertazzoni install is usually a pro-style gas or dual-fuel range with its matching hood, and sometimes the column refrigeration and dishwasher beside it. ### Source Bertazzoni RFD36FZNX/RFD36FZNW refrigerator manual Confirmed on Bertazzoni's RFD36FZNX/RFD36FZNW French-door refrigerator installation and use manual. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Bertazzoni's own guidance for DEMO MODE on its appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Press and hold the water filter and freezer buttons together for 7 seconds to enter the test menu, then press the freezer button until the display shows 7 to toggle Demo Mode. 02 Confirm the fridge and freezer temperatures shown on the display cycle through the demo sequence before assuming the mode is off. 03 Give the unit at least a few hours after exiting Demo Mode before checking whether it has reached its set temperature. 04 If the unit still will not cool after Demo Mode is confirmed off, book a visit. ### Cleared? The message has gone from the display, the setting or connection behind it has been corrected, and the new appliance finishes a full first cycle without raising it again. A setup code that comes straight back after the hookup has been checked points to something the install missed, such as a kinked hose or a harness left unplugged, so note it when you book. ### What not to do Demo Mode is a setting, not a compressor failure, and it is different from Sabbath Mode, which keeps the unit cooling normally while only changing how the door and alarms respond. ## What you may notice with it. Press and hold the water filter and freezer buttons together for 7 seconds to enter the test menu, then press the freezer button until the display shows 7 to toggle Demo Mode. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why does a new Bertazzoni cold-storage unit have lights and a working display but never get cold? That is exactly how Bertazzoni describes Demo Mode: the compressor and defrost heater stop while lighting and other functions keep working normally, which can look like a running refrigerator that simply is not cooling. ### Will unplugging a Bertazzoni cold-storage unit turn off Demo Mode? No, the manual says the mode stays on even through a power loss, so it has to be exited with the button sequence rather than a power cycle. ### Could a Bertazzoni cold-storage unit be delivered already in Demo Mode? It is possible on display or showroom stock, and a new unit that never cools is worth checking for the demo temperature sequence on the display before booking a visit. --- **[Read on the site: Bertazzoni DEMO MODE: a new cold-storage unit that runs but never cools](https://applianceinstallation.center/error-codes/bertazzoni-demo-mode/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
