Cove's own manual describes Sabbath mode as disabling all lights and sounds and preventing changes to dishwasher operation, remaining on even after a power outage. A unit that returns to this same quiet state once power comes back is behaving exactly as documented, not malfunctioning. Cove appliance display · also shown as Sabbath Off What to do when Sabbath shows on the appliance ### Kind of code Setup modes, not failures Nothing is wrong with the new appliance; it has come out of the carton in a state the store or the factory left it in. A showroom or demo mode lights the display and the fans while the unit never cools or heats, a Sabbath setting holds the oven light and hides the controls, a control or shipping lock refuses every key, and some laundry and dish care machines ask for a first calibration cycle before normal use. The manual gives the key sequence that turns each one off; once it is off, the appliance runs as it should. ### Usually leads to No installation Touch and hold the Quick control for about 10 seconds until 'Sabbath Off' appears on the display, following Cove's own sequence. ### Shows up as Appliance Installation Code on a New Unit: Setup Modes and Hookup Messages An appliance installation code is a message a new unit shows because of how it was set up: a demo mode, a water or drain alert, a vent warning or a power check. ### Make Cove Cove makes dishwashers only, so every Cove install is a dish care job: the drain, the supply, the mounting and a panel that matches the cabinets. ### Source Cove US dishwasher use and care guide, document cv_dw_ucg_0524 Confirmed in Cove's US dishwasher use-and-care guide (document cv_dw_ucg_0524). ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Cove's own guidance for Sabbath on its appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Touch and hold the Quick control for about 10 seconds until 'Sabbath Off' appears on the display, following Cove's own sequence. 02 Confirm normal lights, sounds and controls return once the setting is off. 03 Remember that child lock and Sabbath mode cannot both be on at once, per Cove's own manual, if the sequence doesn't seem to work. 04 If the setting will not clear through the documented sequence, book a visit. ### Cleared? The message has gone from the display, the setting or connection behind it has been corrected, and the new appliance finishes a full first cycle without raising it again. A setup code that comes straight back after the hookup has been checked points to something the install missed, such as a kinked hose or a harness left unplugged, so note it when you book. ### What not to do This is not a dead control panel or a power-related failure. Cove's own manual states Sabbath mode remains on through a power outage by design, and is cleared with a specific button hold. ## What you may notice with it. Touch and hold the Quick control for about 10 seconds until 'Sabbath Off' appears on the display, following Cove's own sequence. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Will Sabbath mode stop a cycle that's already running? Cove's own manual describes it as preventing changes to dishwasher operation while it's on, so it's meant to hold the current state steady rather than interrupt an active cycle. ### Why won't Sabbath mode turn off the same way I turned it on? Cove's own manual uses the same Quick-button hold for both directions, just held until a different message appears on the display, so the sequence itself is identical either way. ### Does a power outage cancel Sabbath mode automatically? No — Cove's own manual states Sabbath mode remains on even after a power outage, so it has to be turned off deliberately rather than expected to clear on its own. --- **[Read on the site: Cove's Sabbath setting on a dish care machine](https://applianceinstallation.center/error-codes/cove-sabbath-mode/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
