Dacor's own column freezer manual documents oF as the display shown once Cooling Off mode is active, entered by holding three specific buttons together for five seconds, with the freezer chime confirming the switch each time. Dacor appliance display · also shown as OF What to do when oF shows on the appliance ### Kind of code Setup modes, not failures Nothing is wrong with the new appliance; it has come out of the carton in a state the store or the factory left it in. A showroom or demo mode lights the display and the fans while the unit never cools or heats, a Sabbath setting holds the oven light and hides the controls, a control or shipping lock refuses every key, and some laundry and dish care machines ask for a first calibration cycle before normal use. The manual gives the key sequence that turns each one off; once it is off, the appliance runs as it should. ### Usually leads to No installation Confirm the display literally reads oF before assuming a cooling failure. ### Shows up as Cold Storage Slow to Cool on the First Day Cold storage slow to cool is a new refrigerator, freezer, wine or beverage unit that still feels warm inside many hours after its installation. ### Make Dacor Dacor installs range from wall ovens and ranges with a matching hood to column refrigeration and a panel-ready dishwasher in the same run of cabinets. ### Source Dacor column freezer user care manual — Cooling Off mode Dacor documents this exact button combination on its column freezer line; other Dacor refrigeration models may use a different combination for the same setting. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Dacor's own guidance for oF on its appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Confirm the display literally reads oF before assuming a cooling failure. 02 Use the documented three-button hold for this model to exit Cooling Off mode. 03 Listen for the freezer chime, which Dacor's manual says confirms the mode has changed. 04 Allow the standard stabilization period once cooling resumes before loading food. ### Cleared? The message has gone from the display, the setting or connection behind it has been corrected, and the new appliance finishes a full first cycle without raising it again. A setup code that comes straight back after the hookup has been checked points to something the install missed, such as a kinked hose or a harness left unplugged, so note it when you book. ### What not to do oF does not mean the compressor or the sealed system has failed. It is a deliberate setting meant for a showroom or an extended vacancy, reversible with the same button hold that set it. ## What you may notice with it. Confirm the display literally reads oF before assuming a cooling failure. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Why would a brand-new cold storage column already show oF at delivery? Units displayed in a showroom are often switched to this setting, and it can be left on by mistake when delivered. The documented button hold exits it and restores normal cooling. ### Is it safe to load food right after exiting oF? It is worth letting the unit run through its normal stabilization period first, since it has not been actively cooling and needs time to reach temperature. ### Does the button combination for oF work the same on every Dacor cold storage model? No, Dacor documents this specific three-button hold on its column freezer line; other refrigeration models in the lineup may use a different combination for the same idea. --- **[Read on the site: Dacor oF — a deliberate cooling-off setting on a cold storage column](https://applianceinstallation.center/error-codes/dacor-of/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
