Monogram documents an automatic OU and CRC-compliant Sabbath mode on its column refrigeration line that only activates once a separate connected accessory, sold under its own brand, is wired into the unit; the display then shows SABBATH MODE and the appropriate schedule follows automatically. Monogram appliance display What to do when SABBATH MODE shows on the appliance ### Kind of code Setup modes, not failures Nothing is wrong with the new appliance; it has come out of the carton in a state the store or the factory left it in. A showroom or demo mode lights the display and the fans while the unit never cools or heats, a Sabbath setting holds the oven light and hides the controls, a control or shipping lock refuses every key, and some laundry and dish care machines ask for a first calibration cycle before normal use. The manual gives the key sequence that turns each one off; once it is off, the appliance runs as it should. ### Usually leads to No installation Confirm whether the household is asking for the simpler manual Sabbath setting or the fuller automatic version before ordering any accessory. ### Shows up as Appliance Installation Code on a New Unit: Setup Modes and Hookup Messages An appliance installation code is a message a new unit shows because of how it was set up: a demo mode, a water or drain alert, a vent warning or a power check. ### Make Monogram Monogram installs are GE's luxury built-ins: column refrigeration, pro ranges, wall ovens, hoods and a panel-ready dishwasher for a custom kitchen. ### Source Monogram column refrigeration/freezer owner's manual — Automatic Sabbath Mode Monogram documents this automatic mode specifically on its column refrigeration models; the simpler manual Sabbath setting most of the family shares does not require any accessory. ## Before you book, in this order. Each step comes from Monogram's own guidance for SABBATH MODE on its appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit. 01 Confirm whether the household is asking for the simpler manual Sabbath setting or the fuller automatic version before ordering any accessory. 02 If the automatic version is wanted, confirm the separate accessory is properly connected to the unit as documented. 03 Check that the display reads SABBATH MODE once the accessory is connected, confirming the connection was made correctly. 04 If the display does not show SABBATH MODE after the accessory is connected, book a visit to check that connection rather than assuming the refrigeration itself is having failed. ### Cleared? The message has gone from the display, the setting or connection behind it has been corrected, and the new appliance finishes a full first cycle without raising it again. A setup code that comes straight back after the hookup has been checked points to something the install missed, such as a kinked hose or a harness left unplugged, so note it when you book. ### What not to do SABBATH MODE showing on the display does not indicate a refrigeration problem; it confirms the connected accessory is working as intended. A unit that never shows this display without the accessory connected is behaving exactly as documented. ## What you may notice with it. The appliance problem SABBATH MODE tends to arrive with. Confirm whether the household is asking for the simpler manual Sabbath setting or the fuller automatic version before ordering any accessory. If it comes back, it needs a visit. ### Do I need to buy anything extra to get the automatic Sabbath mode on a Monogram column? Yes, Monogram documents that the automatic, fully certified version requires a separate connected accessory; the simpler manual setting does not need one. ### What does it mean if the display never shows SABBATH MODE after the accessory is installed? It suggests the accessory connection itself was not made correctly, since Monogram ties this display directly to that connection being properly in place. ### Does the automatic Sabbath mode change how the column is installed? It adds a wiring connection for the separate accessory on top of the standard installation, so it is worth planning for during the same visit rather than as a later add-on. --- **[Read on the site: Monogram SABBATH MODE — needs a connected accessory to activate](https://applianceinstallation.center/error-codes/monogram-sabbath-mode/)** **[Book a visit with ApplianceInstallation.center](https://applianceinstallation.center/schedule/)**
