Point Loma is a hilly peninsula bordered by the Pacific Ocean on the west and south, San Diego Bay and Old Town on the east, and the San Diego River on the north, and together with the Coronado peninsula it separates San Diego Bay from the ocean. ## What Point Loma does to an appliance. The Peninsula Planning Area, covering most of Point Loma, spans about 4,400 acres and had an estimated population of 47,981, including Ocean Beach, at the 2010 census. There were no permanent Kumeyaay settlements on Point Loma itself because it lacked fresh water, though the Kumeyaay used a seasonal village site and visited Ocean Beach to harvest shellfish. [All of San Diego](https://applianceinstallation.center/locations/san-diego/) ### On the water In a coastal hurricane zone a new outside cap for a hood or a laundry vent is chosen to hold in high wind, and the installation fits it tightly and seals the wall opening against driven rain. ### Older housing stock Older houses have narrow doors, tight stair turns and wood floors that give underfoot, so installing a new appliance there starts with the carry: doors lifted off their hinges, the floor covered and a dolly path chosen that spares the old trim. ### Mixed housing A buyer moving into an older house with appliances of mixed ages often replaces them one at a time, and each installation there notes what the next will need, a new circuit, a longer duct or a wider opening, so later work is planned ahead. ## A visit in Point Loma.
