### On the water

Waterfront homes often put a second cold storage unit, an ice maker or a grill on a covered deck, and installing one there checks that the model is rated for outdoor use and that its outlet is a protected, weatherproof one.

### Cutouts and panel-ready fits

Panel-ready units arrive without their fronts, and fitting them means mounting the cabinetmaker's panels to the maker's template, setting the hinges for the panel's weight and lining up the reveals with the cabinet doors around them.

### Seasonal houses

A seasonal house often gets its new appliances while the owners are away, so the installation is arranged with a caretaker or building staff who let the crew in, and each unit is tested before the house is locked again.
