What Showroom Mode
actually means.
Viking builds a store-display setting into its refrigeration columns, ice machines and wine cellars so a unit can sit powered on a showroom floor without running its compressor. On the ice machine it is toggled by holding two buttons on the control panel for five seconds; on the wine cellar it is called Demo Mode and needs a password to activate from the settings menu.

What to do when Showroom Mode shows on the applianceKind of codeSetup modes, not failures
Nothing is wrong with the new appliance; it has come out of the carton in a state the store or the factory left it in. A showroom or demo mode lights the display and the fans while the unit never cools or heats, a Sabbath setting holds the oven light and hides the controls, a control or shipping lock refuses every key, and some laundry and dish care machines ask for a first calibration cycle before normal use. The manual gives the key sequence that turns each one off; once it is off, the appliance runs as it should.

Check the control panel for a Showroom Mode or Demo Mode icon before assuming a part has failed.
Shows up asCold Storage Slow to Cool on the First Day
Cold storage slow to cool is a new refrigerator, freezer, wine or beverage unit that still feels warm inside many hours after its installation.

Ice machines (e.g. FIUI5152D) use a five-second two-button hold. Wine cellars (e.g. FDWCIC7240) use a menu-based Demo Mode with a default password.
Before you book,
in this order.
Each step comes from Viking's own guidance for Showroom Mode on its appliances. Follow it to the end: the last card says whether this is a visit.
Check the control panel for a Showroom Mode or Demo Mode icon before assuming a part has failed.
On an ice machine, hold the two marked buttons for five seconds to exit Showroom Mode and confirm the unit begins its ice cycle.
On a wine cellar, enter the settings menu, select Demo Mode and turn it off using the same password screen used to turn it on.
If the unit still will not cool with the mode confirmed off, book a visit.
Cleared?
The message has gone from the display, the setting or connection behind it has been corrected, and the new appliance finishes a full first cycle without raising it again. A setup code that comes straight back after the hookup has been checked points to something the install missed, such as a kinked hose or a harness left unplugged, so note it when you book.
What not to do
Showroom Mode is a setting the unit shipped or was displayed with, not a failed compressor or control board. A unit that still will not cool after the mode is confirmed off is a different problem and needs a technician visit.

A booking moves faster with three things: the message exactly as the display shows it, the model number from the carton or the rating plate, and the moment it first appeared. With those, the office can tell whether it is a setup step or a connection to put right, and send the part that fixes it.
